When I wrote Overcoming the Seven Deadly Sins, I
imagined each sin not as an idea but as a living adversary—
dragons that breathe lies into our hearts. Yet through every
page, one truth became unshakably clear: we do not fight
alone.
Galaxiel’s words remind us that this life is not a struggle of
willpower, but a war of faith. We are clothed in the armor of
God. We wield the sword of the Spirit. And when we stand in
the light of Christ, darkness trembles.
Every victory begins in surrender—to the One who
conquered sin and death for us. It is written, “Greater is He
who is in you, than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
That means no sin, no fear, no failure can hold you when
you walk in His strength.
You are not your weakness. You are His workmanship.
You are the redeemed.
So, when pride rises, bow before the cross.
When envy whispers, count your blessings.
When wrath burns, remember His mercy.
When lust tempts, turn your eyes to His holiness.
When gluttony calls, hunger for His Word.
When greed tightens its grip, open your hands in faith.
When sloth dulls your spirit, rise in His purpose.
You were made to overcome…. because He has already
overcome. And now, I pray you never forget this: Heaven fights beside
you. Angels stand guard over you. The Holy Spirit fills you.
And Christ, the Light of the World, walks before you.
“The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Let us cast
off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
(Romans 13:12)
Go forward, child of God. Live as one who has seen the
light.
