Joy is one of God’s greatest gifts, yet it is often the first thing we lose when life grows heavy. Worry presses in. Weariness slows us down. Disappointment whispers that hope is small, and slowly the brightness in our hearts begins to dim. Many people walk through life unaware that their joy has faded. They feel weaker, more burdened, and unsure why the world feels less alive.
Joyful Kingdom was written as a journey back to the joy we were created to carry. Through the adventures of Jori and Pip, we see the subtle ways joy can be drained and the powerful ways God brings it back. Their path through enchanted forests, shadowed valleys, and wondrous lands mirrors our own spiritual walk. The story shows that joy is not fragile or shallow. It is a strength God places within us, a truth that darkness cannot silence.

Why I Wrote This Book

I wrote Joyful Kingdom because I believe joy is one of God’s most precious gifts, yet it is often the first thing the world tries to steal. I wanted to tell a story that reminds children and families that joy is not fragile or temporary. It is strong, spiritual, and rooted in God’s presence.
In a time when so many feel weighed down by fear, worry, and silence, I wanted readers to see joy as a source of strength that pushes back the darkness. Through Jori and Pip’s journey, I hoped to show that laughter is more than amusement. It reflects God’s goodness, a sign of His nearness, and a powerful weapon against despair.
This book is my prayer that every reader, young or old, will remember that God delights in them, strengthens them, and invites them to live with a joyful heart that shines even in the darkest places.

When the laughter of Merrymirth suddenly vanishes, two young jesters, Jori and Pip, must venture beyond their peaceful kingdom into a world where joy itself holds divine power. From singing forests and pun-filled passes to whispering whirlpools and echoing grottoes, the pair discovers that every corner of creation carries a spark of holy delight.
But darkness rises in the form of the Silencers, mysterious creatures who feed on stolen joy and seek to cover the land in gloom. With scripture guiding their steps and faith strengthening their hearts, Jori and Pip learn that joy is more than a feeling. It is a gift from God, a weapon against despair, and a light no shadow can extinguish.
Filled with whimsy, wonder, and a message of spiritual victory, Joyful Kingdom invites readers to rediscover laughter’s healing power and the unshakable joy that comes from walking with the Lord. Join Jori and Pip on a journey that proves even the smallest spark of joy can overcome the deepest darkness.
