In the quiet branches of the forest, a small sparrow named Perry begins his journey. He flutters, hesitates, and learns to trust in ways both seen and unseen. Along the way, he meets friends, faces fear, experiences loss, and discovers the gentle, guiding hand of God in every moment.
This story is more than the tale of a sparrow. This is a journey of faith, courage, and hope. It reminds us that even when the path is uncertain, we are never truly alone. Each chapter weaves scripture, reflection, and prayer alongside Perry’s adventures, inviting readers of all ages to see God’s care in the world around them and within their hearts.
May you fly with Perry, listen with the birds, and find courage in the knowledge that His eye is always on you.

Every story has a beginning, and every journey begins with a question: Who is watching? Who cares when life feels uncertain, when loss strikes, when fear presses close?
I authored this book because I wanted to explore those questions in a way that is gentle, faithful, and real. I wanted to tell a story where both children and adults could see themselves in the wings of a small sparrow named Perry. He is curious, cautious, and discovering what it truly means to trust in something greater than himself.

This book grew from my own experiences of wonder, of fear, and of loss. I have watched people I love face the unpredictability of life, and I have felt the ache of wondering if anyone truly sees the quiet struggles of our hearts. In Perry, in Maris, in Finch, and in the forest itself, I found a way to explore those very human questions: How do we face fear? How do we grieve? How do we find courage, hope, and joy even when the path ahead is uncertain?
Faith, for me, is not about having all the answers. It is about learning to fly despite uncertainty, to step forward even when shadows pass overhead, and to trust that the One who watches knows what is best for us. This story is meant to remind readers that we are never truly alone, that guidance and care exist even when unseen, and that hope is always within reach.

The hymn “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” has been a companion to me for years. It is a song that speaks of God’s constant care, of watchfulness that does not waver. Through this book, I wanted to weave its truth into a narrative that children can see, feel, and understand, and that adults can reflect on with fresh eyes. Each chapter is paired with scripture, reflection, and prayer because I want this book to be more than a story. I want it to be a companion for hearts seeking comfort, courage, and trust.
I hope that readers will fly with Perry, feel the warmth of friendship, confront fears, and discover the quiet strength that comes from knowing we are always seen, always cared for, and always loved. May this story spark conversation, reflection, and joy, and may it remind each of us that no matter how high the winds, how sudden the shadows, or how unexpected the falls, God is watching, and His care never fails.
Thank you for joining Perry on this journey. May your heart be lifted, your courage strengthened, and your faith renewed as you read.
